Back to School 2010

Wow I say this every year but this year has really flown past..!! It feels like only
yesterday we were all saying our new years resolutions and here we are again
about to face another round.

I am excited about the developments of Label-it over 2009 and want to thank you
all for your trust in our product and your support over the past 3 years. We pride
ourselves on legible labels that children can easily recognise and strive to give
you, our valued customer, great service and fast delivery. Our labels are 100% Australian designed and produced plus I am proud to say we are 100% Australian owned. We are constantly developing new products which will be released during 2010 ensuring you continue to receive 100% quality.

We have also listened to your suggestions and will be releasing early January our
label packs which will include a budget pack, a classroom pack, a split pack for those of you who do not need large quantities, plus we will be releasing our shoe pack..!! I have tested these shoe labels in my own daughters shoes for the past year to ensure I am 100% satisfied before releasing them to you… and I am pleased to annouce I am – however they work best on smooth linings.

Another fantastic development was the testing of our iron on labels through a local boarding school laundry – these labels underwent constant exposure to 180 degree washing temperatures plus commercial tumble driers and to my absolute delight… they were the ONLY ones to survive such treatment..!! As long as the ironing instructions are followed correctly I can guarantee they will work… I love the convenience of these iron on’s and have been inundated with orders for not only boarding schools but nursing homes as well.

I appreciate all your feedback – good or bad – for without it we cannot grow our business and continue to give you the best service at the best price.

I look forward to assisting you with your 2010 back to school requirements. Just a reminder that it takes 3-4 working days to produce your labels ready for despatch in time for school’s return.

To help you we have listed the cut off dates below for each state to ensure you receive your order in time.

Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, Northern Territory:
no later than the 21st January 2010
ACT: no later than the 22nd January 2010

Iron On Clothing Labels...

We love our iron on clothing labels.. and as a mother I love the convenience (especially when I am not good at sewing..!!) There is just a couple of steps you need to take when ironing them onto your childrens clothes..

  1. Make sure the fabric is cotton, cotton blend, cotton/polyester only – if in doubt do a small test somewhere out of sight on the clothing item to make sure a hot iron will not melt fabric.
  2. Always use the protective sheet (supplied with the labels) when ironing on label
  3. Make sure your iron is set at the hottest setting
  4. Cut label along cutting line, peel off backing, position label on garment lettering facing up, lay protective sheet over label, iron for approx 5 seconds, lift protective sheet (WARNING: protective sheet will be hot from iron, handle on edges only when lifting off garment) check label – label will appear ‘gooey’ this is a good thing… label needs to melt slightly into fabric.
  5. Label is attached to garment when you can see the impression of the fabric below it through the label (in other words you can see the pattern of the weave within the label) If not – lay protective paper over label again and iron for another couple of seconds. Remove paper and check label – it should not lift at the edges if correctly applied. Be careful when touching label straight after ironing it too will be hot.
  6. HINT: it is a good idea to round the edges of the label with a pair of sissors prior to ironing – this helps with adhesion to fabric.
  7. Remove protective paper and leave garment to cool.
